I deliver sea kayaking sessions ranging from introductory experiences to skills development and coastal journeys. Sessions are tailored to the group, environment, and learning aims, with an emphasis on safety, progression, and enjoyment.

Delivery can be skills-focused, journey-based, or experience-led, depending on context.

Includes:

  • Sea kayak skills sessions and journeys

  • Canoeing Ireland Skills Awards (up to Level 3)

  • Introductory water-based experiences

  • Confidence-building and progression-focused delivery

Outdoor Learning & Environmental Education

Place-based • Experiential • Curriculum-informed

I design and deliver outdoor learning sessions that use natural environments as the classroom. Sessions support environmental awareness, curiosity, and learning through direct experience, and can be adapted for schools, youth services, and outdoor centres.

Delivery can support curriculum-linked outcomes or stand alone as exploratory, place-based learning.

  • Bio-blitz and simple fieldwork sessions

  • Outdoor inquiry and observation activities

Communication • Cooperation • Learning

I facilitate inclusive team-development sessions using practical group challenges that encourage communication, trust, and collaborative problem-solving. Activities are scalable, non-competitive, and adaptable to different ages and abilities.

Where required, sessions can be aligned with national policy and curriculum frameworks, particularly in relation to wellbeing, personal development, and experiential learning.

Team Development

Coastal Navigation

I deliver coastal navigation sessions that develop practical planning, judgement, and environmental awareness. Sessions focus on understanding charts, tides, and coastal features, and can be delivered as standalone navigation days or integrated into sea kayaking journeys.

Includes:

  • Essential Coastal Navigation (ECN) delivery

  • Tidal planning and chart work

  • Practical navigation on land and water

  • Risk awareness and decision-making skills
